Frequently asked
Do I need an account?
No. Cat-a-log works fully offline for one pet, with no sign-up at all — everything stays on your iPhone. An account is only needed for Cat-a-log Pro, which adds unlimited pets and keeps your records backed up and in sync.
Where is my data stored?
Without an account, only on your device. With Cat-a-log Pro, it is also synced to servers in the European Union so it survives a lost phone. Details are in the privacy policy.
How does sharing with a sitter work?
You generate a code and choose what it covers — feeding, medications, vet visits, notes — and when it expires. Whoever holds the code can see just that one pet, tick off what you allowed, and message you. They need no account, and access ends by itself at the expiry you picked.
How do I stop sharing?
Open the pet, go to Sitter mode, and delete the code. Access ends immediately, and the person holding it is told their access has finished.
How do I manage or cancel the subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple, not by us: open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling there stops future renewals and leaves your data on your device.
How do I delete my data?
In the app: Settings → Delete account. That removes your synced records and attached files from our servers. Anything kept only on your iPhone is removed by deleting the app.
Something is wrong with a reminder
Reminders are local notifications, so they need permission and they only fire while the app is installed. Check Settings → Notifications → Cat-a-log first; if it still looks wrong, email us with what you expected and when — that is usually enough to find it.
